Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my upcoming books!
The ‘Acts’ series will follow J and Natalie through three years of navigating their clandestine time together as friends and lovers. Each book sheds new light on their roller coaster of a journey, unfolding the map of intricate alleyways that weave through their hearts.
On a personal level, writing these books has been an adventure of love and madness. I have felt passionately dedicated to this couple at times, and have considered killing both of them out of frustration along the way. (And I’m not done with book three, so there’s still time!) But not for anything would I change this path that chose me.
Release dates haven’t been set yet, but early 2021 for book one is my best guesstimate. As soon as I get a more firm idea, I promise you’ll be the first to know!
If you’ve read the Acts Series, you know that music is a big part of J and Natalie’s relationship. Authors sometimes get stuck on a piece of the book they’re writing, and I believe it’s during those times when small snippets of our own lives filter into the story. When we don’t know where to turn, we turn to what we know, right?
As I was starting out with Acts of Closure, I listened to a lot of music. I found inspiration in the lyrics and emotions evoked by certain songs. Not all of them made their way into J and Natalie’s story, but a lot did. Sometimes as background music, sometimes as a third entity in a scene. Oftentimes the significance is clear in the lyrics, but not always. At any rate, there’s a reason for all of it.
I no longer listen to music while I write, but I do occasionally stop what I’m doing to play a song I feel is inspirational to a scene I’m writing. J even makes a comment in Acts of Commitment about having music on at his house all the time because he draws inspiration from it. Write what we know…right?
After Acts of Closure was released, some readers who recognized the importance of the music asked for a playlist, but I decided to wait until the series was complete to share the whole list with you. So, here it is, in order of appearance throughout each book. The music that accompanied J, Natalie, and myself on this journey – The Acts Series Playlist.
Read the books, have a listen, and please reach out with any comments or questions. I love to hear from the readers!
